Riassunto
Master's thesis drawn from the Croatian arm of the EU project Frontline Politeia (research lead for Croatia Martina Ferić), whose January 2023 survey in Jastrebarsko and Samobor used the Croatian CTC questionnaire for children and young people (cited as Mihić, Novak and Bašić, 2011). The thesis examines the community domain only, for pupils in grades 5 to 8 of the primary school Ljubo Babić in Jastrebarsko (239 respondents), and asks whether the assessment of community risk and protective factors differs by sex and age. Approval came from the faculty's ethics committee and the Ministry of Science and Education. Community risk factors were rated as relatively highly present. No statistically significant sex differences were found. Age differences appeared for community rewards for prosocial involvement, community disorganisation, laws and norms favourable to drug use and perceived availability of drugs, with medium to large effect sizes. The author suggests the results can inform age-specific prevention. It is a small descriptive needs-assessment analysis of one school, without outcome data.
