Resumo
First of the three volumes in which the scientific-action project „Zajednice koje brinu kao model prevencije poremećaja u ponašanju“ (Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, Zagreb, with Istria County, from 2002) documented the Croatian adaptation of Communities That Care. According to the national library record it is a 240-page epidemiological study measuring risk and protective factors in Istria County, with chapters partly in Italian, a bibliography on pages 204–208 and a print run of 1,000 copies. The companion journal articles of 2008 indicate what the study rests on: the spring 2004 measurement in the twelve participating localities, using the first Croatian translation of the CTC youth survey together with a key-leader survey (151 respondents) and a community survey of citizens and parents. The volume therefore represents the needs-assessment phase of the Istrian model, on which the later priority setting and programme selection were based. Its content could not be checked directly: the book is not online and this summary rests on the catalogue record, the 2008 articles and the 2011 review of the third volume.
