Samenvatting
The Cyprus chapter of the CTC-EU book documents the only Cypriot CTC programme: the Communities That Care initiative in Latsia, Nicosia district, prepared from 2005 and launched in 2006 by the University of Cyprus with the municipality, funded by UNDP-ACT/USAID and the municipality. The Greek-language CTC youth survey was administered in 2007 and 2010 to 871 pupils aged 12 to 15 in three gymnasia (Latsia, Aglantzia, Klirou); the chapter analyses risk and protective factors with structural equation models and finds family factors the strongest protection. The programme ran after-school activities and counselling in Latsia until about 2012 and had three programme evaluations, but no controlled outcome study; the chapter is a case description and a survey analysis, not effectiveness evidence.
