Résumé
Closing volume of the Istrian Communities That Care project, edited by the project leader and the county's prevention coordinator and written jointly by the Zagreb research team and Istrian practitioners (twelve contributing authors). The 316-page book, with key parts in Italian, sums up the two scientific-action projects run since 2002. According to the 2011 review by Mihić and Novak it has ten chapters: foreword; the community in prevention; the basic features of the scientific-action project in Istria; the community prevention model; development, implementation and evaluation of the selected priority programmes (parenting programmes, prevention of early drinking, cooperation of kindergartens, schools, families and community, counselling centres and the school programme PATHS); evaluation of the community prevention model; lessons learned; a summary of the model; references (pages 296–306); and appendices, with boxed practical recommendations throughout. It presents the evaluation model of the project and reflects critically on what was done, but it is a process and implementation account: no controlled outcome evaluation of CTC in Istria is reported. The book was not opened; this summary rests on the national library record and the published review.
