Study protocol, posted as a preprint on Research Square in 2025 and registered as DRKS00034046, for the first effectiveness evaluation of Weitblick, the German school-based sister system to CTC. The quasi-experimental design is sequential: roughly 12 schools enter at each of six time points about six months apart, 72 schools in all, take baseline measures, implement Weitblick within 12 months and are then followed with post and follow-up measures at yearly intervals. About five school key informants per school are interviewed every 12 months (open cohort), the number and reach of evidence-based programmes is documented every two years, and some 2,300 sixth-graders from 43 schools are surveyed longitudinally at two-year intervals. Change is analysed in a three-level model of waves within respondents within schools. The primary hypotheses concern adoption of science-based prevention and the number and reach of programmes; changes in risk and protective factors, behaviour and well-being are expected downstream.
